As a recent homeowner who was fortunate enough to find property with mature fruit trees and ample garden space, delving into the world of homegrown food has been an adventure like no other. In the past I’ve found great joy in foraging berries in the mountains, and more recently I’ve dabbled in hunting for edible mushrooms. However, growing and caring for your own plants, trees and bushes is another challenge entirely. From seed to table, or somewhere in between, each plant brings me on a new journey filled with flavourful bounties and unfortunate losses.
